Describe what you like or dont like about your book so far.

I like the book Hate List. The reason I like it is because the it tells you about the past. Its like a flashback and like telling you the present. It helps me understand what is going on and like what happened for her boyfriend to make him shoot.

Explain what the main character's most pressing problem is at this time.

In the book the Hate List  the main problem is she's trying to figure out why she's in the hospital. She just came out of surgery and she's having a hard time understanding. She don't understand what's going on. Even though there was a shooting at her school and she doesn't understand that he boyfriend is dead.

What are the three big questions you have at this time?

The three big questions I have at this time in the book Hate List by Jennifer Brown are why did her boyfriend kill those kids and injured her? What made him think she wanted those people dead? Did he really love Val.? Was it all over love? I'm going to have to read more to find out.

How would I solve the problem in the book?

I would solve the problem in the book Hate List by not making the list. The list just made everything eles worse. I would also dumb her boyfriend because it seems like he was a total sweetheart in the beginning of the book but when he started hanging out with someone that kept him distant. Got him in to drugs.

How does the settting affect what is happening in the book?

I'm reading Hate List by Jennifer Brown. The book is about this couple and how they make this list of people they hate. The boyfriend takes it seriously and shoots the people at school. He ends up killing a lot a people and he even shoots his own girlfriend. The girlfriend is trying to go back to the same school. Everyone thinks she was in on the shooting with him. The setting at the school is quite some people don't even want her there. The people in her class act different towards her.

What would be one small detail that, if changed, might chage the outcome of the story.

In the book Lost Boy I think if the mom wouldn't have started beating david and abusing him or even brainwashed him to make him think he was "it" or "being a bad boy". I think david and his family would have been happy and everything wouldn't have ended the way it did.

How do you feel at the end of the reading today? what about the plot, setting, and/ or characters creates that mood?

At the end of todays reading, in Lost Boy, I thought it was very hard for david to tell the judge the truth about his mom.  I feel  sad because he never gets to see his mom nor brothers ever again. Then i'm happy for david because he doesn't get beaten anymore. He never has to feel the pain he did when he was living with his mom. I also feel bad for him because he doesn't really know how to act in the house because he was locked up in his room or doing chores. He is also really hyper sometimes.

Identify some qualities a character shares with a person you know?

In the book called Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer Dave felt alone like he don't belong here like he was just a bad child when he really wasn't a bad child at all. I know this person that is a friend of mine and he thinks that he's all alone. Dave later found the right family and became strong enough to just let go. Dave never gave up on anything. Neither did the people that were helping him. My friend has a hard life and he's strong and I hope he knows he's never alone. The qualities that they both share is that they both are really strong people and that he will be okay and happy in the end.

Choose a character you really dislike. Explain why?

I really dislike David's mother in A Child Called "It".  The reason i dislike her is because she told David that he was a bad child. She was also giving him all these chores while Davids brothers played. She stabbed him and let him lay there to die. She doesn't treat all her kids equal. She treated David like crap and the other boys like princes and David like a slave that couldn't eat nor play or even talk to anyone in the house. She gave David all these treatments that would make him sick and pass out. she made him wear gross clothes with holes in them. she made him sit in the bathtub in cold water with his head barely above water. His brothers would come in and show  their friends David while he was laying there. I truly wish someone would have been there for David.

Describe the main character in great detail. Make sure you include physical, emotional, and personality details. Be specific

The main character in A Child Called "It"  is David . In the beginning of the book he is happy. When he got older like 5 years old he started getting treatment different from his mother. David felt pain from all the beatings and from being hungry all the time. He felt unloved because his mother beat him and his brothers laughed at him. His mother turned his own father against him. He felt loved by his day until his mother found out and the father left. He feels broken and unwanted by the family. He thinks he wont survive the pain or beatings that one day shell kill him. He really didn't have anyone in the house hold to help him and neither with school. All the kids at school made fun of him and left him out of everything. The way he dressed with holes in his shirt and pants. the mother was cruel.

How does the setting affect what is happening in this book?

The setting in the book A Child Called "It" affects the book by him being at home all the time. The beatings/ treatments  only happen at home when no one was home likes his father or other family besides his brothers.

Do you want to read something else by this author? why or why not?

I just finished reading A Child Called "It" by Dave Pelzer.  The book was a great book.  It was one of my favorites. So, Yes i do want to read more books by him. The reason i say that is because his first book was amazing and i hope his next book i am going to read is just as good as the first one.

after todays reading, describe what you think will happen next. What details lead you to belive this?

After reading today I can include that Elena will find Steffen. I believe that because she loves him. she wont stop until she know he's safe. She's going to fight to fight him more than ever. I also think that she will end up falling for Damon. The reason I say that is because she used to dated him before she became a child but she better now.

would you choose the main character of the story to be your friend? why or why not?

I would choose  Elena to be my friend. The reason I say that is because  she is really caring.  The reason I say that is because she cares about Steffen and her friends when they are in the crash.  She is a fighter she seems to fight for her friends. When she was acting like a little kid she seemed to fight for her own life to get back to normal.

If i was stranded on an island, which main character would you want with you? why?

The main character I would want is Steffen. The reason that is because he would be able to get us off the island. He would also tell me stories about when he was a vampire way back in the day. He would build a house so we don't have to sleep out side. He would also be able to get me food. But then I might not survive. The reason I say that is because he would need to drink blood and if I am the only person on the island. He might just kill me. So I guess having a vampire on a stranded island with you is bad.

Which character are you least like?

The book I am reading now is the Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith. The character I am least like is Damon. The reason I say that is because Damon  is a mean person. I don't think I am mean at all. I am a very nice person. Damon is also a vampire which I am not, clearly I am human. Damon always starts fights with his brother. I do start fights with my brother, but not all the time.

choose a character you really dislike. explain why.

The person in secret vampire that I dislike is Ash. The reason I don't like him is because he takes Poppy to a vampire house to try to get her exposed. He just seems like bad news. Poppy doesn't want to ruin James life, so she goes with Ash.

if i could change something has happened in the story so far, what would it be?

The book I am reading now is Secret Vampire. If I could change anything I think it would be not having Phil having an outburst when Poppy changes. He starts freaking out when Poppy turns into a vampire. I think he should stay calm because she is going to be okay just different ,a vampire.

If you wanted to suggest this story to a friend, what would you say it was mostly about?

The book I am reading is called Marked by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast. The book is mostly about this girl named Zoey and she gets marked by a vampire tracker. The book is mostly about vampires and how Zoey goes to a new school and has roommate. I think its mostly about vampires. I'm not  all the way into the book, but its really good book so far.

what is the major conflict right now?

The major  conflict in marked is that Zoey's mom and step dad doesn't approve the mark. She got marked by the tracker. The tracker is a vampire tracker and it marks people that are chosen to be a vampire. Zoey goes to her grandmothers house because she doesn't want to stay at home. The step dad doesn't approve of the mark so he calls his prayer group and before that happens she. The mom stands by the step fathers side and doesn't listen to what Zoey has to say at all.
