Choose a character you really dislike. Explain why?

I really dislike David's mother in A Child Called "It".  The reason i dislike her is because she told David that he was a bad child. She was also giving him all these chores while Davids brothers played. She stabbed him and let him lay there to die. She doesn't treat all her kids equal. She treated David like crap and the other boys like princes and David like a slave that couldn't eat nor play or even talk to anyone in the house. She gave David all these treatments that would make him sick and pass out. she made him wear gross clothes with holes in them. she made him sit in the bathtub in cold water with his head barely above water. His brothers would come in and show  their friends David while he was laying there. I truly wish someone would have been there for David.

Describe the main character in great detail. Make sure you include physical, emotional, and personality details. Be specific

The main character in A Child Called "It"  is David . In the beginning of the book he is happy. When he got older like 5 years old he started getting treatment different from his mother. David felt pain from all the beatings and from being hungry all the time. He felt unloved because his mother beat him and his brothers laughed at him. His mother turned his own father against him. He felt loved by his day until his mother found out and the father left. He feels broken and unwanted by the family. He thinks he wont survive the pain or beatings that one day shell kill him. He really didn't have anyone in the house hold to help him and neither with school. All the kids at school made fun of him and left him out of everything. The way he dressed with holes in his shirt and pants. the mother was cruel.

How does the setting affect what is happening in this book?

The setting in the book A Child Called "It" affects the book by him being at home all the time. The beatings/ treatments  only happen at home when no one was home likes his father or other family besides his brothers.

Do you want to read something else by this author? why or why not?
